It is an honor and pleasure to welcome you to the official host-country website of the 42nd Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank, which will be held in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia from 2 to 5 May 2009.  The most important international economic and development gathering in Indonesia in 2009, the ADB Annual Meeting will bring together more than 3,000 people from across the globe. 

Over 30 years have passed since Indonesia last hosted the ADB annual meeting and during that time the economic well-being of world has changed dramatically.

Today we are faced with a different set of economic, development and environmental issues.  The 2009 Annual Meeting will provide an important opportunity to ADB’s 67 members and representatives of the business, academic, non-government and private sectors to discuss far-reaching global issues.  Together with ADB’s management, we are determined to ensure the gathering delivers meaningful conclusions. 

The organizing committee has designed this website to provide participants with practical information about the event and general information about Indonesia and the province of Bali.  I hope that after attending the ADB Annual Meeting you will have the time to explore Bali and beyond.  Indonesia is a world-class destination with countless alternatives to enjoy the country’s hospitality, stunning scenery, and fascinating cultures.
